A little bit about me …
Victoria Dubourdieu
Hello, my name is Victoria and welcome to South Coast Social Skills.
I am excited and looking forward to facilitating the PEERS® social skills program on the South Coast, in the Wollongong area.
With a background in human resources, 15 years ago I began to work with people with learning difficulties principally in training and assessment in disability employment (DES) and school leaver employment support (SLES). My skills and experience are supported with formal studies at TAFE, Sydney University and most recently the PEERS® training.
4 years ago I moved to the Illawarra and joined Cerebral Palsy Alliance, working with clients and families to identify their therapy needs and support them to manage their NDIS plans.
During this time I have witnessed many young people struggle to navigate the confusing journey of making and keeping friends. Young people who want to make friends, would like to be a good friend but lack the skills required, and so remain lonely and isolated.
When a colleague introduced me to the PEERS® program I was able to see firsthand what a life changing experience it provided for people struggling to make friends. I look forward to providing you with the skills to develop lasting friendships.
